EMI undertakes 5th Field Trip in Metro Manila
To continue the process of implementation of the Disaster Risk Management Master Plan in Metro Manila, the 3cd Program Implementation Team, in coordination with PHIVOLCS, MMDA and the EMI Secretariat, has prepared the following one-week-long agenda (pdf-file, 163 kB), starting May 21, 2006.
A special event in the week-long activities is the participation of the 3cd Program Implementation Team (PIT) in the regular session on May 25 of the Metro Manila Disaster Coordinating Council to be presided by Director Ramon Santiago of the Metro Manila Development Authority .
Other highlights include the special participation of Ms. Martha Liliana Carreno of CIMNE and Ms. Laurie Johnson, AICP in the workshops. Ms. Carreno will be the key speaker for the May 22 Megacities Indicators Workshop, while Ms. Johnson will discuss the objectives of disaster risk management in the Land Use Planning Workshop on May 23.
