ICLEI, EMI and METROPOLIS are developing a training and awareness program aimed at local authorities.  In the context of the cooperative agreements already in place between EMI and ICLEI and EMI and METROPOLIS, several discussions have taken place to develop an e-learning and training package for disaster risk management aimed at local authorities and local practitionners.  Under this arrangement, EMI will provide the content for the training as well as the technical support, while ICLEI and METROPOLIS will deliver the course and promote it among their memberships.

This effort is part of EMI's effort to scale up its contribution to cities and to increase competencies of local practitioners and managers in implementing sound DRM practices at the local level.
