EMI kicked off its first brown bag lecture on January 28, 2009 with Jerome Zayas, EMI's Project Coordinator, sharing his experience in remotely coordinating international megacities conferences under the Cluster Cities Project. Zayas specifically talked about his role and strategies in preparing for the Americas Megacities Forum held in L.A. last December 2008, and the upcoming Asia Megacities Forum in April in Mumbai.
The EMI Brown Bag Series is a monthly forum on key topics on disaster risk management that hopes to provide an opportunity for EMI personnel to learn, share and exchange ideas in an informal and interactive manner. The brown bag will be held every last Wednesday of each month, from 12:30-1:30 PM.
The confirmed line-up of lectures for 2009 may be downloaded here.
