EMI to participate at the 1st World Congress on Cities and Adaptation to Climate Change
EMI, through its Chairman and Executive Director Dr. Fouad Bendimerad, will take part in the First World Congress on Cities and Adaptation to Climate Change entitled Resilient Cities 2010 which will be held in Bonn, Germany on 28-30 May 2010. Resilient Cities 2010 will be a prime opportunity to share the latest scientific findings, state-of-the-art approaches and effective programs on climate change adaptation and resilience-building in cities and urbanized areas. It will also enhance exchange, learning, networking, debate and policy development on approaches and solutions to climate change adaptation for cities and local governments. It also aims at setting the direction for future planning of and investment in urban infrastructure. The event will bring about policy propositions and impulses for innovation.
Dr. Bendimerad will be presenting on EMI’s Mainstreaming Disaster Risk Reduction in Manila and Kathmandu during the Urban Risk Assessment Session and will serve as facilitator for the Tools and Implementation Session.
