MCGM Commisioner to present Mumbai DRMMP Project in Global Campaign Launch
Municipal Commisioner S.S. Kshatriya of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai will be giving a presentation during the sub-regional launch of the Global Campaign on Making Cities Resilient an initiative of UN ISDR on 8 June 2010 in New Delhi India.
Mayors and local leaders from a number of Asian cities, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Colombo and Kathmandu, are also expected to sign up to the UNISDR campaign at the launch which is sponsored by the Indian Ministry of Urban Development, the National Institute of Disaster Management and the SAARC Disaster Management Centre in New Delhi.
The global campaign is eyeing 1,000 local government leaders around the world to pledge its commitment to sustainable development practices that would increase the resilience of cities to disasters.
