EMI joins ISDR Asia Partnership for DRR
EMI joined the ISDR Asia Partnership (IAP) for Disaster Risk Reduction in a meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand on 13-15 February 2008. EMI was represented by its Chairman Dr. Fouad Bendimerad
The IAP brings together a broad set of governments, regional inter-governmental agencies, donors, international organizations, and NGOs. It will coordinate major DRR activities taking place in Asia, in particular support the preparation of the 3rd Asia Inter-Ministerial Conference which will take place in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia in December 2008. EMI will help in the the Ministerial preparations as part of the Working Group.
