Third Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction to be held in December
The Government of Malaysia will be hosting the Third Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (ACM3) on 2-4 December 2008 in Kuala Lumpur.The Ministerial's focus will be on "Multi-stakeholder Partnership for Disaster Risk Reduction - From National to Local", with special emphasis on engaging and forging innovative partnerships with the private sector and local communities.
The Conference will represent an opportunity for governments from the Asia Pacific region to reaffirm their commitment to the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA), and to forge innovative partnerships to effectively implement and support disaster risk reduction initiatives at the local, national, and regional levels.
