Climate Policy Brief for cities released; EMI cited as one of the leading initiatives on urban DRR
EMI is cited as one of the initiatives on city-level disaster risk reduction in the Climate Policy Brief released recently by the Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, and the UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction.
The Policy Brief highlights the critical issues raised in the Cities and Resilience Dialogue held in Bangkok, Thailand on 28-29 September 2009. The Policy Brief outlines some recommendations in addressing the impacts of climate change in cities through proactive “climate-proof” development policy and planning.
