Since 2006, in partnership with the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery, EMI has been offering the Natural Disaster Risk Management Program (NDRMP). The NDRMP is a series of 8 comprehensive and specialized online training courses which started that promote proactive approaches to disaster risk management. Since first being offered, more than 500 participants from 40 countries have been trained under the program.
This June, EMI will be conducting another run of the NDRMP. The basic course, the Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management Framework, which is a pre-requisite for the other specialized courses under the program, will be run from June 20- July 27, 2011.
Here's what of our Alumni say about the Online Learning Program:
“The series of courses are very comprehensive and build upon each other to reinforce the learning experience. I was only going to take three specialized courses after the foundation course but found the teaching-learning process employed an interactive one that I ended up taking all on offer.” - Sharon Taylor, Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement
“...the course has brought positive change in a manner at which I view and analyze disaster risk situations. The course left me with valuable legacy of case studies, reading materials and presentations for future reference.” - Thato Konstabole, World Vision- Lesotho
Registration for Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management Framework is ongoing until June 13, 2011.
