Responsibilities:
The position is responsible for ensuring that all Headquarters and Field Office crisis management and emergency plans, systems, and procedures related to man-made or natural disasters are appropriate and tested; plans, implements, and manages all aspects of ADB's crisis management and emergency preparedness program to ensure optimum preparedness, and response capability at Headquarters and at all Field Offices; and for the management and implementation of a staff crisis management and emergency preparedness education, training, and awareness program.
Reporting Arrangements:
The position reports to the Director and/or designated International Staff.
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or security-related fields; preferably with Master's Degree or equivalent
- 8 years' relevant professional experience in the areas of disaster management in a corporation, government organization, or international institution; and at least 4 years' supervisory experience
- Good knowledge and understanding of emergency and disaster preparedness methodologies and techniques
- Able to analyze procedural, operational, and strategic issues and make recommendations to improve the effectiveness of ADB's emergency-related operations and services
- Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with staff, Management, other international organizations, and senior host government officials
- Emotional maturity to understand the impact and sensitivity of emergency preparedness and crisis management issues
- Strong supervisory skills and excellent problem solving skills
