Forty eight (48) development professionals have successfully completed the most recent run of online courses conducted by EMI and GFDRR. Twenty six (26) individuals from 21 countries passed the 9th Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management Framework (CDRMF) course held from November 7 to December 14, 2011, while twenty two (22) participants representing 14 countries successfully completed the requirements of the 6th Safe Cities course conducted from November 14 to December 14, 2011. Matteo Mode, an international consultant from Italy, and Claudia Gonzalez Muzzio, an architect and land use planner from Chile, topped the list of CDRMF and Safe Cities course passers, respectively.
The CDRMF and Safe Cities courses are part of the Natural Disaster Risk Management Program (NDRMP), a package of eight (8) e-learning courses which offer a practical and cost-effective means for professionals who are looking to build their career and/or improve their skills in disaster risk management. The NDRMP is a joint initiative of the World Bank's Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) and EMI. The program has been offered since 2006 and has produced more than 500 graduates from 40 different countries.
