EMI, an international, not-for-profit organization involved in urban development and disaster risk management is in urgent need of a Knowledge Management Specialist. The full-time position will be based in Manila, Philippines.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and production of publications, project reports and updates, website postings, promotional materials, and other EMI documents through drafting of content, editing and proofreading, and lay-out and graphic design;
- Support the updating and maintenance of EMI websites and file sharing systems;
- Provide technical support and advice in the acquisition of knowledge management tools and services for EMI and help organize and maintain its in-house knowledge resources;
- Undertake other relevant tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, Communications Research, English, Public Policy, or Information and Communication Technology is preferable. Other related fields can be considered; a master's degree is a plus.
- Knowledge of disaster risk management or related fields is also a plus.
- Applicants should have at least one (1) year of professional experience in the field, related to communication, knowledge management and/or information and communication technology. Project management/coordination experience is a plus.
- Excellent writing, publishing and communication skills
- Keen eye for detail and creative thinking and writing
- Good design sense
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office applications (e.g. Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of relevant computer applications for desktop publishing (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign), with good design sense
- Basic understanding of networking and web technologies (e.g. HTML, Dreamweaver) and fairly familiar with Web 2.0 trends and developments.
Compensation: Commensurate to level of education and years of applicable experience.
