The Pasig City Resilience to Earthquakes and Floods project will be conducting the 7th Field Investigation on Hazards, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (HVRA) on March 6-13, 2012 to be spearheaded by Dr. Fouad M. Bendimerad, Project Director and Dr. Bijan Khazai, ICT-GIS Expert.
The week long field investigation aims to complete the Pasig HVRA report which will focus on analyzing the impacts of the hazards in Pasig City at the barangay level. It will tackle the impact on population, buildings, critical infrastructures, lifelines, and impact to services. The high loss facilities, major infrastructure and population at risk for earthquake and flood will likewise be taken into consideration.
Moreover, the assessment of selected structures located on the flood and fault zones will be dealt with, as well as the identification of potential evacuation sites. It will take into account the number of buildings and households with very high damage and loss potential for earthquake essentially around the fault zone, and areas of potential fire. The capacityfor health care and shelter requirements of the at risk communities will be considered, and compared with existing facilities.
